Welcome to Star Ridge Acres!  Please join us in celebrating the beautiful American Miniature Horse - the horse for everyone.   Thank you for visiting us on the web and please accept our invitation to visit us in the soil.  We are very proud of our small, family-run farm and enjoy sharing these amazing tiny creatures with others.  We are located in northeastern Missouri, just about an hour from St. Louis.

Our farm began in 2003 when after years of working in the corporate world and living in typical suburbia we needed a change.  We moved to the quiet town of Troy, MO and started our new lives.  Although one of us has maintained our corporate job, the other has been able to make our farm a full-time (and then some) job.  We both spend many hours a day caring for and cleaning up after our herd and we would not have it any other way!  It was the best decision we ever made and we are mentally and physically healthier because of it.  There is nothing else in the world like sneaking out to the barn late in the evening and listening to our babies quietly munching on hay.  It's the best stress reliever one can find!

After much research we determined that the Gold Melody Boy bloodline best represents what we strive to breed and show.  The unmistakable beautiful head and the attitude of total arrogance is a great foundation on which to build.  We have complimented our Gold Melody Boy horses with several other proven lines.  Our farm has the descendents of Fallen Ash Scouts Robin Hood, Whittmaacks Mickey Mouse, Roan Ranger, Johnstons Gold Boy, Little Kings Buck Echo, Skip A Star, Boones Little Buckeroo, Ten Ls Echos Captive Spirit, Komokos Teenie Jeanie, Johnstons Gold Bar, Dippers Duffy, Lazy Ns Boogerman, Ima Boones Little Buckeroo Too, Lazy N Redboy, Hemlock Brooks Egyptian King, Boones Little Andy, Martins Boozers Dark N Dazzling, Rowdy, Fishers Jim Dandy, Summers Jim Beau, Sids Red Cloud, Flying W Farms Little Blue Boy and of course the icon for Arabian refinement in miniature - Gold Melody Boy.

We breed for balance, conformation, beautiful heads and good dispositions.  We occasionally have one or two foals or mature horses for sale, but most that we breed are retained for our show string and breeding program.
