We want to thank Jennifer and John Bennett of Indian Peaks Miniatures for allowing us to acquire this absolutely perfect little girl!  "Sera" is the epitome of what we look for in a mare - excellent conformation, beautiful head, showy attitude and from great bloodlines.  Click here to see Sera's pedigree.

Sera's sire is Lucky Four Rebels Red N Royal ("Red") who in turn is a direct son of Sids Rebel.  Sids Rebel has produced numerous AMHA National Champions and Top Ten winners, as well as earning the AMHA National Reserve Champion Get of Sire in 1997, 1999 and 2002.  He is also the leading AMHA Futurity Sire based on total dollars awarded to his get.  Red's maternal grandsire is Shadow Oaks Paul Bunyan (1982 AMHA National Reserve Champion Sr. Stallion) and his dam, Shadow Oaks Diamond Trinket was the high-selling mare at Lucky Four Farm's 1999 Production Sale bringing $30,000.  To top it off, Red has his own show record that is very impressive.  Red has earned AMHA National Reserve Champion Amateur Jr. Stallion Level 1, AMHA National Top Ten Futurity Yearling Stallion, AMHA National Top Ten Yearling Stallion and many Supreme Halter Championships.  His AMHR show record includes 2001 National Top Ten Get of Sire.  Red's get are winning also, with over ten National Top Tens, a World Top Five AOTE Yearling Futurity Mare and a World Champion AOTE Mare.

Sera's dam, Lookout Bonsais Sweet Anticipation is a stunning palomino with a gorgeous head.  She has an extensive show record that includes AMHR National Champion 2 Yr Old Mare, AMHR National Champion Amateur Halter Mare, and multiple AMHA and AMHR National Top Tens.  Her produce have won AMHA World Top Three AOTE 2 Yr Old Futurity Mare, AMHA World Champion AOTE Mare and AMHA World Top Five AOTE Yearling Futurity Mare.

Sera is the FULL sister to Indian Peaks Sweet Sophistication, the 2005 AMHA World Champion AOTE Mare and World Top Five AOTE Yearling Futurity Mare!

Sera has started out 2008 where she left of in 2007...blues in Open, Ammy and Model!

Pictures of Star at age 2

"Star" is just that - a star!  She is a beautiful, correct and oh, so tiny filly!  Her pedigree includes Skip A Star (1985 National Grand Champion Stallion), Roan Ranger and the famous Gold Melody Boy Click here for completed pedigree.

Her first and only year on the show string was 2006, which started out great and never stopped!  Star ended the year with 4 Grand Championships, 4 Reserve Grand Championships, 7 Jr. Championships and 8 Reserve Jr. Championships!  This is an outstanding record for a 29" mare showing against 33" and 34" mares!  She is well on her way to earning her AMHR Hall of Fame in Halter.  Star never stops showing!  She is "on" in the barn, while having her feet done and when playing in the pasture with her buddies!

Star was left open for 2008.

Photos of Goldie at 17 years old

"Goldie" is a very beautiful mare with a gorgeous head and we consider her a true treasure.  She is the dam of our beloved "Star" and we are hoping she will give us many more beautiful foals in the future.  Goldie is one of the last Bar L mares still breeding today.  She also has Dell Teras Hippy on her top side; he is considered the first documented/confirmed true champagne in the miniature world.  She was bred to the 2005 World Top 3 Sr. Stallion 28" to 30" Seahorse Olympia Golden Opportunity for an '08 foal and the result was phenomenal!  We are absolutely thrilled with the breeding to this outstanding stallion and thank Monette of Wisteria Miniature Horse Ranch for allowing us the opportunity.  He is truly magnificent stallion and the foal, Star Ridge Acres Golden Opportunity, is also!

Goldie will spend the rest of her life at Star Ridge Acres being treated like the queen she is.

Picture of Sweet Pea at age 10

"Sweet Pea" is a beautiful mare with a tiny, dished head and big, liquid eyes.  Her muzzle is tiny and the dish to her head is just right - not to little, not too much.   Sweet Pea is a part of the history of the miniature horse world in that her sire is none other than Johnstons Gold Boy, the only living direct son of Gold Melody Boy.  In addition, her maternal grandsire is National Champion Martins Boozers Dark N Dazzling.   She also has National Champion Summers Jim Beau on her dam's side.  Click here for complete pedigree.  Sweet Pea may be a tiny horse, but she can move!  She has the biggest trot on the farm and she passes that movement on to her foals.

Sweet Pea is also a proven World Champion producer.  Her '00 foal, OMP Bantam Buckeroo, was named 2005 World Top 4 Sr. Stallion 28" (in a class of 9).  She is the dam of the first foal born at Star Ridge Acres, a beautiful and sweet colt (now a gelding) named Star Ridge Acres Good As Gold or "Binky" as we call him.  Sadly, we lost Sweet Pea's '08 foal by Corona.  It was a beautiful colt with a tiny, gorgeous head.

Sweet Pea is an excellent mother, foals by herself and is very independent.  She needs very little from humans - unless she's in her last few weeks of pregnancy and needs her belly scratched!  Fortunately, she doesn't pass her indifference to people on to her babies!

Photo of Buttercup at age 16 and in foal

"Buttercup" is an absolutely beautiful mare that we are thrilled to call ours.  She has a lovely long neck that is naturally arched and a beautiful head and big eye.  Her tailset is phenomenal and she can really move!  This one-of-a-kind mare was bred by the late Lowell Boone and her pedigree includes Gold Melody Boy II who was sired by the famous Gold Melody Boy himself.

Buttercup gave us a beautiful palomino filly on March 29th, 2008.  She has now produced over 75% fillies and over 75% dilutes.  We are very pleased to announce that Butter will be left open this year so she can travel early in the spring of 2009 to be bred to the one and only First Knights Billy Idol!  We are thrilled with this opportunity!

Butter will spend the rest of her life at Star Ridge Acres!

Photo of Puddin' at age 25

"Puddin" is an amazing mare.  She is truly a piece of miniature horse history; her sire is none other than Flying W Farms Little Blue Boy!  The famous Blue Boy sired many World and National Grand Champions and too many Top Tens to even count.  Puddin' is a young 26 years of age and looks and acts like she's about 10!  She is a beautiful chocolate color with very good conformation and an extremely pretty head.

As expected, she gave us a beautiful, healthy, refined Perlino filly with blue eyes on Easter morning!  This filly will be retained for our breeding program.

Puddin' was bred to Reserve World Champion Stallion 28" & Under Ten Ls Echos Captive Spirit for a spring 2009 foal.  Sadly, she never took and is now back home - probably to retire.  We appreciate Ten L Training for allowing us to breed our treasured Puddin' to their phenomenal buckskin Buck Echo son, Spirit.  We wish we could have had one of his spectacular foals, but it wasn't meant to be.

Another breeder of miniature horses recently posted a comment about Puddin' on a very popular miniature website, referring to her as a "genetic treasure."  We agree.  Puddin' will spend the rest of her life with us.

We purchased "Prize" to add to our small herd of exceptional broodmares

As if being a Mickey Mouse daughter isn't enough, Prize is also a granddaughter AND great-granddaughter of Boones Little Andy!

Left photo undated, right photo of Cappy at age 18

"Cappy" is a rare find these days and there aren't many left with such an "old" pedigree.  She has contributed greatly to the miniature horse world and we are fortunate enough to have a foal of hers carrying our farm name.  Throughout her breeding career she has only been bred to the best of the best.  Cappy has produced foals by Dell Teras Mr Wonderful, McRaes Mr GG (AMHA National Champion Sr Stallion), and Sligo Strike The Gold.  She's a pretty, sweet mare with large brown eyes that will melt your heart and she produces correct babies which are proving to produce National and World Top Tens themselves!

Cappy gave us a beautiful, dainty palomino filly, Mira, by Seahorse Gold Melody Bar (by Johnstons Gold Bar) on April 5, 2007.  The sire is a gorgeous cremello with a power-packed pedigree that includes 3 crosses to Gold Melody Boy.  Mira earned an AMHR National Top Ten placing in Weanling Mares 26" & Under in 2007!  A very big thank you to Christy at D'Armonds Littlest Angels for allowing us to acquire this bred mare.

Cappy has 8 registered foals, with the first being born in 1992 and her most recent in 2007!  That's quite a career!  Cappy is a permanent resident of our farm.
